8 - 5 is more than enough time to wear yourself out out there. I'll say something to the wife. You thinking about bringing out the pony ?

If I remember right, it took me like 20 mins to learn the track because it's so big.

nah - you'll be fine. when I was there, the faculty put cones out to show you where to start your turn in, apex, exit, and made you follow a leader through the course a few laps and 50% effort where he systematically waved to pass following cars after several laps. Just watch those hint cones, but really pay attention to your surroundings. I probably don't need to say this, but be easy the first 15/20 mins and give yourself a fighting chance. If you go balls deep and go off early and get embarrassed, worse - hurt your car, it will ruin your day and more over, your confidence.
Tamsters just reminded me we spent 15K on our bathrooms and 500 bucks for a lap day right now is a tall order. I'm not done yet though with my request, lol. I might tag along if someone else decides to go... maybe.
Snat's right though, 8 hours will kill your tires. Bring a whole extra set of mounted tires if you don't trailer or at the min, a set of fronts as you can mount them anywhere and move wheels around. You don't know your alignment yet so there's understeer issues - maybe. 767 whp is probably near 700 tq to the sneaker. Rears will take a beating - even if they're square to the surface. I'll have to use tires I intended to cutup for rallycross, so I wont have a lot of width or soft compound, but I'll have fresh 235/40 17 @ 320 wear sneakers and will be on a trailer.
My own experience in this is that I went to Arroyo Seco in my 350z, cooked my rears early and was done as I didn't bring an extra set of tires. I got to watch Tammy race from the sidelines.

Honestly only want to do a few laps to get better acquainted with the car and stretch her legs...legally.

Dude. The main straight / runway is a perfect place for that. If the Accord had been in a little better shape, I might have hit 100. I got close-ish to 100 the one time I went with Ric.

Brandon- I'll find out from my friend at work whether or not he's renewing his Inde membership. I was able to get out there a handful of times in my Camaro and a couple times in the scion and there were ~2-3 other cars, at most, while we were there. My cost was the same as the trackday. If a 3rd person tags along, the cost goes up, but not significantly. (1st guest is "included" with the membership, additional guests are $300)
