They always just took my plate, and wrote me up for no plate, no reg. etc. I suppose they could do worse if they wanted to. I am not sure of the actual laws regarding "masquerading" as another vehicle.

back story, i bought the yellow s4 over a week ago and still waiting on b of a to get it titled but the sellers loan company still hasn't released the title so i can get a plate yet. i have insurance on the vehicle already and have gotten the emissions done. I was just wondering what the trouble would be if i were to put the plates off of my other audi on it so i could drive it. Thanks for the warnings

it depends how stupid the cop is though. my cousin was driving my coupe for 2 months with the papers from his hatch, he got stopped for speeding and just got a speeding ticket. but regardless i wouldn't recommend it

A few years ago i had a friend that had plates from Hawaii . That where for his car. but since az and Hawaii dont share info. they pulled him over treated him like a thief cuffed him impounded his car. He got out the next morning with a list of fines.
and couldnt get his car till the whole court case was over and the judge released it.. bad bad deal.

Ive also heard that if you get in a wreck with out reg your insurance can refuse the claim...
